This is a very specific issue that arises in some of our more expensive group rate courses on our directory, especially as new hires are made or existing employees are upskilled to new departments or responsibilities. The solution is best illustrated in the example below:
You are a small business and applied for "Course A" at a group rate cost of $15,000. At the time of application submission, only 4 trainees were eligible to attend, which is the number you input. In this case, we would only be able to award your business $12,000 due to our $3,000 per trainee per course maximum, and any cost above this would be paid out of pocket by your business.
Ex: $3,000 per trainee (our max reimbursement) x 4 trainees = $12,000.
At the time of reimbursement, you indicate 5 eligible trainees attended. In this case, we would still only be able to reimburse $12,000 since we cannot reimburse more than what was approved for a course based on the initial application (even though $3,000 per trainee x 5 = $15,000).
When you are planning you Express-funded training, it is bet to plan ahead as much as possible for courses and indicate the maximum number of trainees who are currently payroll employees of your organization you think will attend the course. We can always remove funds from grants, but we cannot add funds after a signed contract is in place.
