Should I offer my course at a per-trainee rate or group rate?

That is totally up to you!

If you have an open enrollment/public course, you may wish to add your course as a per-trainee rate so multiple organizations can take part in your training. Per-trainee rates can also incentivize smaller businesses to take part, as they only need a few seats of a course. Group rate style courses are generally offered if you would like organizations to book an entire session with you and only their employees, but offering group rate vs. per trainee rates do affect how we handle the reimbursement of the course for grantees (see below).

We can accommodate both styles of courses. If you would like to offer both styles of training, you can create two course listings in our directory for the per trainee rate and group rate (you can denote the difference in the title as "per trainee" or "group rate"). To learn more about how to add courses to our directory, visit our website and download our Training Provider Manual.

*How per trainee rate and group rates affect the reimbursement process

  • If we approve a grantee at a "per trainee" rate, we will reimburse based on the number of trainees that attend the course, regardless of what the final course cost was. For example, if we approve a grantee for 4 trainees at $500 per trainee ($2000 total), and only 3 end up completing the course, we will reimburse the grantee $1500, regardless of how much they paid since we only approved up to $500 per trainee.
  • If we approve a grantee at a "group rate", we will reimburse based on the total course cost, regardless of the number of trainees. For example, if we approve a grantee for 5 trainees to take a course that is $3000 per group, and only 3 trainees end up taking the course, we would still reimburse them the full $3000 as long as that is the price they paid, and they are still within our $3000 per trainee/per course subsidy limit.

In both of the above scenarios, we would not reimburse more than was approved under their agreement.
