The FEIN and/or business name has changed, will that affect my already approved grant under the old business name and/or FEIN?

It depends on your business's particular situation:

  • If only your business name has changed but not the federal identification number (FEIN) or Department of Unemployment Assistance (DUA) ID, you can keep your agreement as is since it is still being awarded under the same FEIN and DUA ID. For any future applications, make sure you have updated your legal business name with the Department of Revenue (DOR) and Department of Unemployment Assistance (DUA). You can reach out to each department directly and they will help you update your legal name on your accounts.

  • If your business was acquired and your employees are now on the payroll for a different business and FEIN/DUA ID, you will need to reapply* for the courses under the new business name. Please connect with our team at express@commcorp.org and we can help support the transition and reapplication of your application.

*Reapplications under the new business name will still have all the same guidelines as a new application (i.e. courses should have a start day 21 days after the date of new application submission**, ensuring the new business has an updated COGS with the DOR, and pass a compliance screening with the DUA, you can read through our compliance overview here).

**If training has already started, when you connect with us, we will run through your options on how to continue training as seamlessly as possible.
