The Express Program of the Workforce Training Fund is thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of the Express Provider Portal, a new course management system that will enhance the experience of current and new Express Program providers with courses listed on the Express Training Directory. The new system will streamline the course submission, approval, and renewal processes, ensuring a more efficient journey for both the provider and the businesses they serve.
As part of this transition, the Express Program will be moving away from our current course management platform, TrainingPro, after many years of service. While TrainingPro course ID numbers will still be operational during the transition period, we will be phasing in a new identifier system known as "C-Record numbers.” These numbers will serve a similar purpose to TrainingPro IDs, but they will be auto-assigned by our new system and will become our new course identifiers for current and new courses.
The Express Provider Portal, anticipated to launch in late fall of 2023, will offer these and more exciting new features:
- Real-time integration with the Express Program grant application and our online Training Directory, allowing for new and renewed courses to populate in both places at the moment they are approved by the Express team. This means that there will no longer be a lag time between when a course is approved and when it populates in the online Directory and in the application.
- A one-stop user portal for up to 4 contacts per organization including an account administrator, allowing training providers to submit, edit, clone, and archive their Express Program courses, as well as dedicated spaces for them to request support from the Express Team and reset their login credentials.
- A fully virtual new provider onboarding process designed to educate new providers—as well as providers in need of a refresher—on Express Program guidelines and the course submission process.
Please note that this transition towards the Express Provider Portal will not impact the types of training that are eligible for Express Program reimbursement. Rest assured that both TrainingPro and Express Training Directory will remain live throughout the transition period so that providers can continue to submit new courses, and businesses can continue to submit applications, per normal procedures.
Here are two important action steps that Express Program training providers must take:
- To facilitate a smooth migration process, we kindly ask that providers review and update the courses (if needed) listed in TrainingPro by Friday, September 15, 2023. This ensures that their course offerings are current and well-prepared for the migration process.
- For training providers with courses listed as “pending” on TrainingPro: please request a review by emailing the course ID(s) to Express@commcorp.org. (Remember: we’re not notified by TrainingPro when courses are submitted to the platform for renewal or approval.)
- For training providers with courses listed as "approved" on TrainingPro with an “earliest resubmit date” on or after July 1, 2023: these courses will automatically be considered for migration to our new system. This step is aimed at minimizing any inconvenience on your end.
- Starting in September, our team will be in touch with every provider over email to help them prepare for the migration process. Before then, we recommend that training providers ensure that the email address express@commcorp.org is added to their email services’ Safe Sender Lists. When we contact providers, they will be required to add additional details to the courses that they want to migrate from TrainingPro to the Express Provider Portal.
Please see here for our Express Provider Portal Transition Support library, which contains answers to questions about the new Express Provider Portal and the migration process. All additional questions and requests for clarification can be sent to our support team at express@commcorp.org. As always, our team endeavors to respond to support requests within a business day.
We are truly excited about this evolution and the possibilities it opens for training providers and, most importantly, the myriad of small businesses we serve across the Commonwealth. The cooperation and proactive engagement of our training providers will be invaluable in ensuring a seamless transition.
Warm regards,
The Express Program
