What does the $3,000 per trainee/per course limit mean?

Modified on Tue, Nov 5 at 1:12 PM

The Express Program has recently updated the subsidy caps that we follow as part of our guidelines. We can award a business up to $15,000 in grant funds per year, and there is a cap on the amount of funds that can be awarded for one employee for one training course, $3,000 per person, per course and $300 per instructional hour. We define a training course as the training that occurs under one course ID in our Express Course Directory (which may or may not encompass multiple sessions or meeting days, depending on the structure of the course).

Businesses with 1-50 employees are eligible for up to 100% reimbursement and businesses with 51-100 employees are eligible for up to 50% reimbursementMore details on how we calculate subsidy amounts can be found here.

This limit applies to both group rate style courses and per trainee rate style courses. To calculate the amount per trainee for a group/flat rate style course, take the total course cost and divide by the expected number of trainees.
