How is the per-person grant training fund determined?

Modified on Tue, Nov 18 at 3:22 PM

Training hours represent the duration of the training program, not cumulative participant hours.

Regardless of delivery model (group OR per-participant), training hours = the duration of the training cycle.

  • 12 participants each doing individual 32-hour training = 32 training hours total (NOT 384)

The grant is funding training delivery time, not cumulative participant hours.

"Training hours" = the length of the training program itself (e.g., 32 hours), NOT multiplied by number of participants
The $300/hour limit applies to:
(Total Training Cost) ÷ (Program Duration in Hours)

Examples:

12 participants each doing individual 32-hour training with the training cost being $800 per person.
  • Total cost: $9,600 (12 participants × $800 each)

  • Training hours: 32 (duration of the training program)

  • Cost per training hour: $9,600 ÷ 32 = $300.00

This MEETS the $300/hour maximum and is allowable.

12 participants each doing individual 32-hour training with the training cost being $1000 per person.

  • Total cost: $12,000 (12 participants × $1,000 each)
  • Training hours: 32 (duration of the training program)
  • Cost per training hour: $12,000 ÷ 32 = $375.00

This EXCEEDS the $300/hour maximum and the amount above the $300 will be the responsibility of the grantee and will be added to the instructional match.
