Training in end-user computer skills like Windows, Excel and Access may be considered if it will provide computer skills that were not previously required of employees. Applicants must distinguish these skills from the basic skills previously required of workers.
Training in more advanced end-user skills or IT system administration is also allowable if it adds capabilities that would not otherwise be provided without grant support. In cases where the distinction between basic and advanced skills is unclear, applicants may seek partial funding for training fees, covering the remainder out-of-pocket. The rationale for determining the portion covered by the grant should be explained. Company-paid fees can be attributed to matching funds.
