What Training Category should I select for my course?

Modified on Fri, Aug 21 at 10:19 AM

Please note: prior to August 2026, the Express Provider Portal used a different set of Training Category options. Any course submitted before that date has had its Training Category adjusted for you to align with one of the categories below. If the category assigned to your course is not a good fit, edit the Training Category and resubmit the course for review, or describe your course with keywords.

Training categories on the Express Provider Portal are skills-based. You have the option to select from the following Course Categories for courses you wish to submit to the Express Provider Portal:

  • Process Improvement & Quality Insurance
  • Profession/Industry Specific & Technical Skills
  • Non-Technical Professional Skills
  • Interpersonal/Soft Skills
  • Adult Basic Education (ABE)
  • IT & Systems Administration
  • Sales & Customer Service
  • English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
  • Management/Supervisory/Leadership Skills

We recommend selecting the Training Category that best fits the skills your course teaches, then using the Keywords field to add more specific words and phrases describing the course. Keywords are searchable from the search field on the Express Course Directory so they help businesses find your course even when a single category is not an exact match.
