I just received a notice that my DUA account is not in compliance? Does this mean I am not eligible for the Express Program?

The Workforce Training Fund is funded through a surcharge on unemployment insurance and unemployment health insurance payments made to the Department of Unemployment Assistance (DUA). That means if your DUA account is not in compliance, we are unable to award funding for training until the account is brought back into compliance and you reapply.

Here are a few reasons your account may not comply:

  • You have an unpaid balance on your DUA account.
  • You have unfiled quarters on your account that need to be filed and paid.
  • You submitted an adjustment that is still pending and needs to be submitted before the department knows you comply.
  • If your account returns a “No Records Found,” this likely means:
    • The wrong Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN) was supplied to us.
    • You do not have an account setup with the DUA. This could be because you are a new business, you are a sole proprietor, or your do not have any payroll employees. Without an account setup with the DUA, your organization is not eligible for funding through the Express Program.

Luckily, a non-compliant DUA screening does not always mean you are not eligible for the Express Program. You may just need to resolve the outstanding issue. Once the outstanding issue is resolved, you are welcome to reapply* to be considered for funding through our online application.

*Please note, once a compliance issue is found and your application is closed, we are unable to reopen it. This means you will need to reapply once the DUA issue has been resolved. The 21-day processing window will reset.
