Is it acceptable to include optional enrichment training courses as part of my General Program grant proposal?

Modified on Wed, Apr 9 at 8:15 AM

Grants are intended solely for work-based skills training, not as optional employee perks or for personal enrichment. Applicants should not propose training that is intended to be offered as optional to attend for enrolled participants. Once enrolled participants are expected to treat attendance as a required work task and be held accountable for successful completion of the entire course.

By accepting a grant, employers enter into a service agreement to implement the proposed training plan in order to receive funding. Failure to meet the agreed-upon training participation goals may result in withholding of grant funds.
